Bright Nickel Plating

Bright nickel is a leveled, lustrous, corrosion-resistant deposit — used both as a decorative finish and as a barrier underplate beneath chrome and precious metals. Gleco plates bright nickel to QQ-N-290 Class 1 at our AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified Texas plants.

FAQ

Bright Nickel FAQ

Is bright nickel decorative or engineering nickel?
Bright nickel is primarily a decorative, leveled finish that also provides corrosion protection. For low-stress engineering build-up, sulfamate nickel is the better choice; for uniform hard deposits on complex parts, electroless nickel.
Can bright nickel be used as an underplate?
Yes. Bright nickel is commonly plated as a barrier underplate beneath chrome and precious metals, and to improve corrosion protection and appearance.
What specification and thickness do you plate to?
Bright nickel is plated to QQ-N-290 Class 1, with grade/thickness selected by service condition and your drawing.
