Electroless nickel is chosen when geometry defeats electroplating. Because the deposit is chemical rather than electrical, it lays down at essentially the same thickness on a flat, in a bore and inside a blind hole — which is exactly where racked plating runs thin.
Internal diameters, blind holes, recesses and threads all take the same build. That is the reason to specify it, and it is why it costs more than a racked nickel.
Low, medium and high phosphorus deposits behave differently on corrosion, hardness and magnetic response. If your print specifies a range, call it out; if it does not, tell us the service and we will recommend one.
Because the build is uniform, the dimensional effect is predictable — which is why electroless nickel appears so often on close-tolerance hydraulic and valve components.
High-strength steel requires an embrittlement relief bake per ASTM B850, and heat treatment is also used to raise deposit hardness where the specification calls for it. Both have to be on the purchase order.
Roughly 50 miles from Fort Worth to Rowlett, about an hour on I-30. Most work in this corridor moves by freight. Standard turnaround is about three weeks from receipt of complete material and a complete purchase order.

Yes, where the specification calls for it. Bear in mind that a heat treatment is a thermal cycle applied to your part — if the substrate is temper-sensitive, that is a conversation to have before the order rather than after.
