Sustainability & Carbon Commitment
Metal finishing runs on chemistry, water and energy. We use all three, and we account for all three. This is what Gleco Plating is committing to.

Our carbon commitment
Gleco Plating commits to reducing the greenhouse gas intensity of our operations — emissions per 1,000 square feet of surface area processed — by 30% by 2030, measured against a 2022 baseline.
We track Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions on this basis. Our baseline is being finalized from utility and production data across our Texas facilities, and we will publish progress annually.
We chose an intensity target rather than an absolute one because Gleco is growing. Adding capacity to serve rising customer demand means our absolute emissions will go up over the next several years; intensity measures how efficiently we finish a part, which is what we control and what we can improve every year regardless of volume.
Four efficiency workstreams are underway, each with a named owner: boiler and process heat, compressed air, lighting and HVAC, and rinse water reduction.
Policy and verification
Gleco’s environmental policy applies to every employee, contractor and facility we operate — Rowlett, McAllen, and Gleco Paint & Powder. It is issued in English and Spanish, and available to customers and auditors on request.
Gleco Plating registered with EcoVadis, an independent sustainability ratings platform, on 25 August 2026. Our assessment is in progress, and we will share the scorecard when it is issued. Our environmental procedures run under the same quality system as our AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 registration.
