Matte Silver Plating

Gleco also offers AMS-2410, AMS-2411, AMS-2412, ASTM B700, and QQ-S-365 matte silver plating. Because of its electrical properties and high purity, matte silver plating is used for wire bonding pads and semiconductor components. Silver plating also offers excellent high-temperature lubricity, which makes it ideal for anti-galling and anti-seizing applications on high-temperature parts.
Matte silver plating is preferred to a semi-bright or bright finish for high-frequency telecommunication parts, integrated circuits and sensor applications. However, because this finish does not include the metallic hardening agents of bright silver, matte silver is softer and not ideal for separable connector applications where wear is a critical factor.
Matte Silver Material Options
Matte silver plating can be employed on several metal substrates:
- Stainless steel
- Exotic alloys
- Die castings
- Aluminum
- Brass
- Copper
Why choose Matte Silver Plating?
Matte silver is the purest, most solderable, and most electrically conductive silver deposit. It is used in plating for several reasons, including:
- High electrical conductivity
- High thermal conductivity
- Lightweight
- Antibacterial
- Wear resistance
Typical Uses of Matte Silver Plating
Matte silver plating is used by the medical, semiconductor and telecommunications industries to finish:
- Sensors
- Semiconductors
- RF devices
- Satellite components
