Gleco Plating applies bonded dry film lubricant to MIL-PRF-46010 — a heat-cured molybdenum disulfide (MoS2 ) solid film lubricant — at its Rowlett and McAllen, Texas facilities. Dry film lube delivers permanent, non-migrating lubrication where oils and greases can’t be used: on fasteners, in vacuum, and across extreme temperatures. All work is done in an AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified, ITAR Registered shop.

What Is Dry Film Lubricant?

Dry film lubricant — also called solid film lubricant — is a coating of fine molybdenum disulfide (MoS2 ) particles suspended in a resin binder. It is sprayed on and heat cured into a thin, durable, dry film that lubricates by shearing between its molecular layers, much like graphite.
Unlike oil or grease, it does not attract dust, migrate, or drip, and it performs across a wide temperature range and in vacuum. Applied over a phosphate or anodize base, MIL-PRF-46010 provides long-lasting lubrication and added corrosion protection.
