Dry film lubricant — also called solid film lubricant — is a coating of fine molybdenum disulfide (MoS2 ) particles suspended in a resin binder. It is sprayed on and heat cured into a thin, durable, dry film that lubricates by shearing between its molecular layers, much like graphite.
