Gleco Plating is a family-owned company founded in 1979 and now in its third generation of family leadership, with 185 employees across our McAllen and Rowlett, Texas plants.
Gleco has served the Rio Grande Valley since 2005. We came because a customer asked us to — they could not find a reliable plater anywhere in the region. Today the McAllen plant runs 53,500 square feet with 75 to 80 people across multiple shifts, putting certified finishing minutes from the border where the Valley’s manufacturing base actually operates.

Certifications and Quality System
Gleco Plating is certified to AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015, runs RoHS-compliant processes, is ITAR Registered, and is DFARS compliant . Gleco was recognized as a Products Finishing Top Shops Elite shop in 2024 and approved as a supplier to Volvo and Mack Trucks in December 2024. The McAllen plant has its own on-site laboratory and wastewater treatment, with in-house chemists controlling bath chemistry at the plant.

Gleco’s process list includes rack and barrel zinc (ASTM B633), zinc-nickel (AMS 2417, ASTM B841), electroless nickel (ASTM B733, MIL-C-26074), nickel (QQ-N-290, ASTM B689), cadmium (AMS-QQ-P-416), tin, silver, gold, Type II anodize and Type III hardcoat (MIL-PRF-8625), chem film (MIL-DTL-5541), citric and nitric passivation (AMS 2700, ASTM A967), plus powder coating, wet paint, Cerakote, and silk screening through the Gleco family.
