Semi-Bright Silver Plating

Semi-bright silver is the engineering silver — dense, solderable, and bondable — used for die attach, current-carrying contacts, and conductive surfaces. Gleco plates semi-bright silver to QQ-S-365 Type II, ASTM B700 and AMS 2410/2411/2412 at our AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified Texas plants.

Our silver plating line. Semi-bright silver sits between matte and bright — enough lustre for appearance-sensitive work, without the full reflectivity of a bright deposit.

Semi-Bright Silver FAQ

What is semi-bright silver used for?

Semi-bright silver is an engineering finish for solderable and bondable surfaces, die attach, and current-carrying contacts — a balance of density, solderability, and conductivity.

What thickness ranges are typical?

Roughly 1 µm for solderable surfaces, about 10 µm for die-attach applications, and up to about 40 µm where wear and heavy current matter — confirmed against your drawing.

Do you apply a nickel or copper underplate?

Yes. A nickel and/or copper strike is standard on ferrous and copper-alloy substrates for adhesion and diffusion control.
