Zinc-nickel with the right post-treatment carries substantially more salt spray hours than standard zinc, and stainless that has been machined or welded usually needs passivation before it will behave like stainless again. We will tell you which applies to your part.
We run neutral salt fog in our own chambers at both plants for process control. When your specification requires a certified result, we run it through an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory and supply the certificate with your parts.

The McAllen plant is a straight run south from Corpus Christi on US-77 and I-69E. For most Corpus shops that is a closer full-line finisher than Houston, and it avoids the congestion that turns a Houston round trip into a multi-day proposition. Consolidating releases into one run usually beats paying freight twice on every lot.

It depends on the substrate and the service condition, but for steel in a coastal environment zinc-nickel with the appropriate post-treatment generally outperforms standard zinc by a wide margin. For stainless, the answer is usually passivation done correctly rather than a coating at all. Send the print and we will make a specific recommendation.

Zinc and zinc-nickel, cadmium, electroless nickel, sulfamate nickel, bright nickel, chem film, Type II and Type III anodize, nitric passivation, bright tin, gold, matte and bright silver, and bright dip on copper and brass. Alkaline zinc, citric passivation, matte tin, dry film lube and zinc phosphate run at Rowlett.
Tell us the part envelope and weight when you send the print. Tank and rack capacity varies by process, and we would rather tell you up front that something will not fit than find out on the dock.
